The NQF 4, SAQA ID 59097 is the Further Education and Training Certificate. It is a foundational qualification for aspiring or existing estate agents and property professionals. It blends theoretical knowledge, legal compliance, and practical performance, enabling candidates to qualify for professional registration (non-principal status) and paving the way for career advancement within the property industry.

  • Comprises 150 credits across Modules:
    • Fundamental: 56 credits (e.g., Mathematics, Languages)
    • Core: 73 credits
    • Electives: 21 credits  

 

Entry Requirements

  • Communication skills and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3 (Grade 11 equivalent).
  • Must be employed or in an internship with a registered real estate agency for workplace experience.

 

Exit-Level Outcomes

By the end of the qualification, learners will be able to:

  • Operate professionally within the real estate legal framework and PPRA requirements.
  • Apply the Code of Conduct for Estate Agents.
  • Perform marketing and selling or letting of immovable property.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and property databases.
  • Apply business principles and financial knowledge relevant to property practice.
  • Demonstrate ethical behaviour and professional conduct in all real estate transactions.
  • Understand and apply real estate legislation (e.g., EAAB/PPRA Code of Conduct, FICA, FAIS).
  • Perform essential real estate functions such as marketing, sales, leasing, and property management.
  • Uphold ethical standards and manage client relationships professionally.
  • Provide advice and guidance to clients within the regulatory framework.

 

Workplace Requirements

  • Completion of a 12-month workplace logbook under the supervision of a registered principal estate agent.
  • Workplace evidence must be submitted to the PPRA before the PDE4 exam.
